Wild Flower Open Classroom, California
Wildflower Open Classroom, an open structure K to 8 charter school from Chico, CA, will walk in solidarity with the Los Angeles Waling Water team on Thursday, October 26th during a class immersion trip to the Bay Area. Twenty four 7th & 8th graders will walk from the Kent Lake dam along the Lagunitas Creek through the Samuel P. Taylor State Park. The students will investigate the myriad forces that affect the water in this region, including the man made dam and the salmon spawning grounds. Along the way, we will sit in council in our small walking teams and during our solo time to connect more deeply with the water. We plan to bring the spirit of pilgrimage back to Chico later this fall to walk with the Big Chico Creek that flows through our hometown.
